Pinning vs Course Information
The plugin has several ways to keep something visible. They solve different problems.
| Feature | What it does | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Pinning | Puts an item or collection on Home → Pinned and at the top of Reading Schedule | “Read this next”, the course you are mid-way through |
| Course Information (priority) | Keeps handouts at the top of that syllabus | Module handbook, Zoom link, assessment brief |
| Add to Home | Adds a collection as its own Home shelf | Always-visible project folders, saved searches |
Common mix-ups
Section titled “Common mix-ups”- Pinning a syllabus is not the same as giving items Course Information priority.
- Adding a collection to Home does not pin it; unpinning does not remove a Home shelf.
- Course Information items are not automatically on Reading Schedule unless their class has a date (and even then the priority is about syllabus ordering, not the Pinned section).
